FADE THE KNOB: Dearly Brothers

WRITTEN BY MAX

Dearly Brothers is a five piece group from Nashville, Tennessee.  While they are not my personal cup of tea, my swell cousin Joey is in this band, and he is the best guitar player that I know personally.  Joey’s fingers make a guitar come to life, the way things come to life in the movie Fantasia.  Put a guitar in his hands, any type of guitar, and you are in for a treat, like a Beggin’ Strip or a Blizzard from DQ.  At Christmas one year, I watched him light a Guitar Hero guitar on fire by shredding some Dragonforce.  For anyone who loves a good guitarist, I urge you to check him out, and just watch his hands while he plays.

Dearly Brothers have recently recorded a little EP, which you can download for free at their website, dearlybrothers.com.  Their stuff is what I would call more of the melodic folk rock, somewhere between Bob Dylan and Mumford & Sons.  Basically, lots of people are going to like them and they will be huge if they can keep it together, but anymore, unless it’s balls-out punk, I don’t really listen to it.

At any rate, check them out and download their songs.  It’s free, and if we have learned one thing about America, it’s that we love free shit.
